APWH Mission Statement
The mission of the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing (APWH) is to enhance the treatment and decrease the pain, suffering and dysfunction of patients with complex wounds. These patients are treated by physicians involved in the care of all wounds, including acute, chronic, post surgical, post radiation, reconstructive, burns and other problematic wounds. Our purpose is to improve the quality of life for these patients domestically and worldwide through physician, advanced practitioners, patient education and advocacy as well as engaging in legislative initiatives involved with the delivery of healthcare.
