Dr. James McGuire is the Director of the Leonard S. Abrams Center for Advanced Wound Healing and Professor Clinician Scholar in the Departments of Podiatric Medicine and Biomechanics at the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia.  Dr. McGuire is a board-certified podiatrist and wound care specialist, earning his DPM degree from the former Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, now part of Temple University. He is a Certified Fellow, Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. He is also a licensed physical therapist and is certified in wound care by the Council for Medical Education and Testing. He has been published extensively and has been an investigator in several research trials involving the diabetic foot and wound healing.

Dr. Ming Liu an Infectious Disease physician and the National Senior Medical Director at Woundtech. He obtained his undergraduate degree from MIT and MD/PhD degrees from UCLA in 2002. Dr. Liu also has a faculty appointment at California University of Science in Medicine. In addition to his work at Woundtech, Dr. Liu has continued to be involved in research on human microbiome and application of artificial intelligence in healthcare.

Suzie Ehmann, DPT, CWS, CLT-LANA

Suzie Ehmann, PT DPT, CWS, CLT-LANA, is a clinical specialist working at Atrium Health Stanly. Dr. Ehmann has dedicated her practice to the evaluation and comprehensive treatment of patients with lymphatic disorders and chronic non-healing wounds. Her focused interest is on the science of compression and impact of edema management on functional ability and mobility.  Dr. Ehmann is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and a Certified Wound Specialist.  She has been a featured speaker at national and international conferences, and numerous regional lymphedema and wound conferences.  In addition, she has authored several peer reviewed articles. Currently she is pursuing her PhD with a focus on the impact of an alternating compression profile.  

Kathy Kump, DNP, RN, MSN, MHSA, SWOCN, FNP, DAPWHc

Dr. Kathy Kump is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who earned her Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Kansas, with a specialty in Organizational Leadership. Dr. Kump is the Associate Vice President of Clinical Operations for Woundtech, and is responsible for all coordination of clinical operations, budgetary and personnel management, onboarding, and continuing education company wide. Dr Kump is a dedicated nursing professional who is driven, innovative, and passionate about high quality care. 

Joyce Black, PhD, RN, FAAN

Joyce M. Black, PhD, RN is the Florence Neidfeldt Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.  She is the current Vice- President of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel, having previously served as President and Secretary. Dr. Black served as the co-chair of the task force to update the definitions of the stages of pressure injury including medical device pressure injury.  Dr. Black has received many awards for her work in pressure injury, most recently the Kosiak award from NPIAP for her work in rediscovering deep tissue pressure injury.

Adam Weaver, DO, PGY-3

Dr. Adam Weaver is a 2019 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is PGY-3 Internal Medicine resident at the Jefferson New Jersey Division, applying for a cardiology fellowship. He has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Medical Society in both 2016 and 2017 with scholarships. He has published his experiences with healing complex wounds and has several oral and poster presentations in his career to date. He has an interest calciphylaxis, and is involved with ongoing research in microvascular, cardiac arrhythmias, and other coronary related topics.   

Regino Flores, MD, PGY-1

Dr. Regino Flores is a training psychiatrist at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine in May 2021.  Dr. Flores attended to college at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA for biology. Dr. Flores is a commissioned officer in the US Air Force and will serve as a psychiatrist following completion of his residency training. His wound care interests focus on nutrition and non-adherence. 

Son Tran, DPM, PGY-2

MedStar Health.

Dr. Son Tran is a 2nd year podiatric surgery resident at MedStar Health. He has participated in research focusing on diabetic limb salvage, beginning as a student and through involvement in APWH 2018. Dr. Tran has presented posters at several conferences from APWH to ACFAS with pending publications in multiple journals.  He has a special interest in effective ways to offload neuropathic ulcers.

Mr. Justin Barry is an experienced Certified Physician Assistant at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA who has been working in the Trauma and Burn Department for the last 10 years.  Justin is the lead physician assistant in his department. He has earned the Award for Commitment & Excellence at UPMC, which is a prestigious award that only less than 1% receive. He has been instrumental in developing practice guidelines for Hydrofluoric Acid, Frostbite, and VTE Prophylaxis. He has been involved in the development of the Laser Program in treating burns, and creation of Guidelines for Geriatric Burn care. He is frequently asked to lecture on burn care, at the local, regional and state level.

Dr. Steven Kravitz is the Founder, President and a Certified Fellow, Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing (APWH). He is an Assistant Professor for the Advanced Wound Healing Center, Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine where he has served continuously as faculty for 36 years.  Dr. Kravitz is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is noted as an opinion leader for compression therapy related venous disease and other vascular disorders.  He is an internationally known speaker on wound healing and Certified in Wound Healing by the Council for Medical Education and Testing.

Dr. Steve McClain hails from High Ridge, Missouri, and graduated from Missouri Medical School. He did his residency at University of Vermont and completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at New York University under the renowned dermatopathologist Dr. Bernie Ackerma at NYU. Dr. McClain is board certified and specializes in Podiatric Pathology. He is an adjunct professor of Dermatology and Emergency Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook with research interests in Wound Healing, malignant melanoma, and pathology informatics. He has numerous publications and is a frequent lecturer at local and national meetings. He is truly passionate about Pathology!

Dr. Harry Penny is the Director of Blair Medical Associates UPMC Altoona Wound Clinic. He is a Clinical Instructor of Wound Care at UPMC (Altoona) with the Allegheny Family Practice Physicians. He serves as an Advisory Board Member (North American Supplement), Journal of Wound Care and an Editorial Board Member, Journal of Wound Care. Has had multiple peer reviewed papers published in prestigious journals. Dr. Penny is the Vice President and Board Member of the APWH. He was a Major in the United States Army Reserves, attached to 382 Combat Support Hospital, proudly serving our country.

Dr. Barbara Aung is a podiatrist in private practice in Tucson, Arizona and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.  She is a Certified Wound Specialist and is a Certified Fellow of the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing. Dr. Aung is the Chief of Podiatric Surgery at Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital in Tucson Arizona.  Dr. Aung also serves on the Editorial Board of the Wound Management & Prevention Journal.  Dr. Aung is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association Coding committee and has lectured on Billing & Coding at national wound care and coding conferences. 

Pamela Scarborough, PT, DPT, MS, CWS, FAAWC

Dr. Pamela Scarborough is licensed as a physical therapist in Texas, and is currently the Vice President of Clinical Affairs for American Medical Technologies. She presents nationally and internationally on wound prevention and management topics. Dr. Scarborouh is certified as a wound specialist by the American Board of Wound Management, and is the founding faculty of the Wound Certifications Prep Course. She has published various wound management books and periodicals. She has served on multiple wound related boards, is a Fellow of the Association of Advance Wound Care. Dr. Scarborough’s current focus is improving clinical outcomes in wound prevention and management for the post-acute care settings

Carmella Sprowls Repcheck, PhD, M.Ed

Dr. Carma Sprowls-Repcheck earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and PhD in Educational Communications and Technology. She has been an Assistant Professor and Clinical Internship Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh in the Dept. of Health and Human Development for 13 years. Her main focuses have been to instruct students on developing safe and effective exercise prescriptions for their clients. Core courses include Exercise Prescription and Fitness Assessments, and Exercise Prescriptions for Special Populations. Her expertise includes conditions such as cancer, seniors, children and adolescents, arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, and pregnancy. On a personal note, Carma has 4 children, one of which is immunocompromised and has suffered from wounds during her adolescence, so this is a topic very personal to her.

Sara Kimes, MS, RD, LDN, WTA

Ms. Sara Kimes is a clinical dietician and is currently employed at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for the last 11 years. Her work focuses on high acuity hospitalized patients, most recently with a focus in gastroenterology, urology, oncology, and the medical ICU. Sara participates in patient care rounds with a plastic surgeon and his team, focusing on nutrition and wound healing. Sara is co-chair of her hospital’s skin care committee and has obtained her Wound Treatment Associate certificate. She considers nutrition and skin health a priority in all seasons of life.  

Jeffrey Galitz, MD, DPM, FAPWH, FACFAS

Dr. Jeffrey Galitz has the distinction of being both a licensed physician and a podiatrist. Dr. Galitz has served in the Dept. of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine as an instructor and student at the same time. Dr. Galitz founded and is CEO of PodiCare, Inc., one of the largest full risk capitated podiatry networks in the country. He went on to be founder, CEO and Chief Medical Director for Woundtech, the country’s largest home-based wound care provider to over 50 major health plans and 450 medical groups, performing 4 million wound care treatments to date.
